Clara Ianni Replicante

01 Oct 05 Dec 2021 www.aarea.co Solo exhibition

Clara Iannii's Replicant is a project co-organised by aarea and the Fundação Bienal de São Paulo, and is part of the network of the 34th Bienal de São Paulo - Faz escuro mas eu canto.

From the election of the far right to the pandemic, global information technology caused an unprecedented impact within the Brazilian context, modifying the social, political and economic space. Replicant takes this context as a starting point from which to reflect on the relationship between technology, politics, economy, space and perception. The project consists of a Whatsapp bot which replicates, responds and develops through the participant’s interactions. Following the medium’s logic of fragmentation, the piece is constituted as a literary and audiovisual collage which links different times and spaces, constructing situations in which the past and future coexist in the present.

Replicant sessions take place on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, between 19:00 and 19:30. To participate, enter www.aarea.co, choose a date and enter your telephone number. Replicant will contact you by WhatsApp on the scheduled day and time.
